- South in the Colorado Springs Region – the Manitou and Pikes Peak Railway will take you to the top of Pikes Peak, elevation 14,110. At the Cave of the Winds, you will descend into the colorful depths of Colorado. Miramont Castle and the Cliff Dwellings Museum will take you back in time. The Iron Springs Chateau Melodrama and the Flying “W” Ranch Chuck Wagon Cowboy Show will tickle your funny bone and delight your senses. The Garden of the Gods and Helen Hunt Falls will lift your spirit. Families have all of this to enjoy and more! The North Pole & Santa’s Workshop, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Air Force Academy, Seven Falls and Royal Gorge Bridge are all a short drive away.
- North in Denver Area, many groups like to head into Casa Bonita’s in Lakewood for a lunch or dinner and enjoy the entertainment of cliff divers, arcades and a truly unique environment. There is also the Denver mint and a water theme park: Water World. Local amusement parks like Elitch’s Six Flags, Heritage Square, and Lakeside Amusement Park provide a wide variety of summer experiences. Denver also offers attractions like Ocean Journey, The Children’s Museum, The Butterfly Pavilion, Denver Zoo, and the Museum of Natural History. Further north lies Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park.
- Many hiking areas are available in and around Camp Colorado, including a short drive (9 miles) to Devil’s Head and a 1-1/2 mile hike up a paved path to the last manned ranger lookout station that gives you a very spectacular view of 100′s of square miles of Colorado.
