In Loving Memory

The Camp Colorado Board, former directors, counselors, nurses, cooks, and campers are mourning the loss of Hazel Guyer, 94, of Quincy Village, Pennsylvania. Hazel passed away September 9, 2014. She was born April 19, 2014 in New Windsor, Maryland. She and her husband of 65 years, Rev. C. Albert Guyer married August 24, 1949. Hazel and Al Guyer co-managed Camp Colorado for several years as well as making numerous donations. When managing the camp, Hazel worked relentless hours to get $6,000 towards replacing roofs on some of the buildings at Camp Colorado. Camp was a place that was and still is near and dear to Hazel and Al. The dedication and passion for camp was passed down to their son, Stephen Guyer. Stephen then passed on the passion to his children Chris Guyer, Stephanie Guyer, and Lauren Guyer who are still actively involved with Camp Colorado. Hazel will be sorely missed.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, September 20, 2014 in the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church Street, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, with Rev. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Heifer International, 1 World Avenue, Little Rock, Arkansas 72202. www.heifer.org.
